French Lawyer Participation Charter

Through its website legalmova.com (“the Platform”), LegalMova facilitates connections between users and licensed lawyers registered with a French Bar Association. LegalMova serves strictly as an intermediary and does not provide legal consultation, drafting of legal instruments, or legal representation in accordance with the applicable provisions of French law, including the Law of December 31, 1971.

Article I – Definitions

  • Lawyer: A legal practitioner registered with a Bar Association in France.

  • CNB: The National Bar Council (Conseil National des Barreaux), the body representing lawyers practicing in France.

  • RIN: The National Internal Regulations (Règlement Intérieur National) which outlines professional obligations and ethical standards for French lawyers.

  • User: Any adult individual or legal entity using the services provided by the Platform, whether acting in a personal or professional capacity.

Article II – Purpose

This Charter outlines the conditions under which a French Lawyer may participate in LegalMova’s connection service. Participation in the network implies full acceptance of this Charter as well as the Platform’s Terms of Use and General Sales Conditions, which collectively form a single binding agreement.

The Charter also informs Platform Users about how French Lawyers are integrated into LegalMova’s service.

Article III – Participation Requirements

To join the LegalMova network, Lawyers must submit an application through the Platform. They must confirm compliance with the professional standards applicable in France, including the rules and ethical guidelines set forth by the CNB and described in the RIN.

Applicants must provide accurate information about their qualifications and submit any required documentation for verification purposes.

LegalMova retains full discretion to approve or reject applications without the obligation to provide a reason.

LegalMova may suspend or permanently remove a Lawyer from the network at any time, without explanation or compensation.

Article IV – Connection Service Terms

  1. Eligibility Only Lawyers approved by LegalMova under Article III may participate in the Connection Service.

  2. Connection Process Lawyers must observe confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest in accordance with article 6.6.4.3, paragraph 2 of the RIN. Each Lawyer retains the right to decline any referral.

LegalMova cannot guarantee that a Lawyer will accept a connection request, nor is a User required to accept a suggested Lawyer. Each party remains entirely autonomous in their decision-making.

  1. Resulting Legal Relationship When a User and a Lawyer agree to proceed, the professional engagement is exclusively between them. LegalMova is not a party to the agreement and plays no role in the provision of legal services.

Article V – Limitation of Liability

In accordance with article 6.6.2 of the RIN, the Lawyer is solely responsible for confirming the User’s identity and information. LegalMova disclaims any liability for inaccuracies or omissions provided by the User.

LegalMova is not responsible for rejected applications, network removals, or failed connections. The company has no involvement in the quality or content of any legal services provided and cannot be held liable for disputes arising between a User and a Lawyer.

Article VI – Financial Terms

  1. Platform Participation Fees Per article 6.6.4.2 of the RIN, Lawyers may be asked to contribute to the operational costs of the Platform. Any such fees will be subject to prior agreement.

  2. Legal Fees Under article 11.4 of the RIN, LegalMova does not share in any legal fees paid by Users. However, as permitted by article 6.6.4.3, the Lawyer may authorize LegalMova to collect initial consultation fees on their behalf (e.g., €249.00 for a 30-minute session). These payments are transferred in full to the Lawyer, who remains responsible for issuing any required invoice.

Any further engagement or legal services beyond this initial session must be negotiated directly between the User and the Lawyer without LegalMova’s involvement.

Article VII – Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Charter is governed by French law.

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt an amicable resolution. If no agreement is reached, the matter will be referred to the competent courts in France.
